Most owners ask the same handful of questions before hiring a brand or website partner, usually because they have been burned before. The answers above are short and direct. Below we add context on the four topics that come up most: money, time, ownership and trust. If something isn't covered, call, text or email and ask.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a brand and website project cost?
Our plans run from $1,999 a month, or $1,499 a month on annual billing, up to $7,999 a month for Enterprise, which includes a website design and build. Oakville clients add 13% HST. The pricing page explains what drives cost.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. You pay one month at a time, and leaving takes 30 days' notice. Annual billing is a discount you can choose, not a requirement.
How long until the new website is live?
A typical service-firm site launches six to eight weeks after we start, assuming photos and feedback arrive on time. A full rebrand with strategy and identity first takes closer to three months.
Who owns the website, the domain and the accounts?
You do. The domain is registered to your company, and you hold admin access to the site, analytics, call tracking and Google profile. Brand files are handed over in full.
We hired an agency before and it went badly. Why would this be different?
We hear that often. The usual causes are long contracts, accounts held hostage and reports nobody understands. We avoid all three: no lock-in, your accounts in your name, and a short monthly summary of calls, texts and emails.
Can you promise more calls or first place on Google?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. We set a baseline before starting and report honestly against it every month.
How do you report results?
Each month you receive a plain summary: enquiries by channel, enquiry rate on the website, Google profile actions and what we changed. We also explain what we plan next and why.
Are you a contractor?
No. We don't renovate, install, repair, clean or service anything. We are a brand and marketing service for trades and home-service firms.
What kinds of businesses do you work with?
Trades and home-service firms of every kind serving Oakville: renovators, plumbers, electricians, HVAC firms, roofers, painters, landscapers, cleaners, window and pool companies, among others.
Do we need to change our name or logo?
Usually not. Most firms need a cleaner system around a mark people already recognise. We only recommend a new name when the old one is causing real problems.
Will you write the website content?
Yes. We interview you and write it ourselves. You check technical accuracy; we make it readable and persuasive.
Do you use stock photos?
We avoid them for anything that implies it is your team or your work. Instead we set up a simple routine for capturing real project photos.
Your office is in Vancouver. Is that a problem for an Oakville firm?
In practice, no. Brand and web work happens on screens and calls. We check every decision against the Oakville communities you serve and stay reachable by call, text, email, video call or in person.
What do you need from us to start?
Your website address, a list of the services you most want to sell, access to your Google profile if you have one, and a rough idea of your average job value.
Money
The plans are listed in full on our pricing page, with monthly and annual figures. The important things to know are that every plan is month-to-month, that Ontario clients add 13% HST, and that the Enterprise plan includes a website design and build. If you are comparing us with a one-off website quote elsewhere, compare like with like: ask what happens after launch, who owns the files and what the hosting costs each year.
A useful question to ask any provider, including us, is: "What would have to be true for this to pay for itself?" If they can't answer with numbers, be careful. We always answer with your own figures.
Time
Brand and website work takes longer than most owners expect, mainly because of waiting for things: photos, feedback, access to old accounts. Here is a realistic sequence:
- Weeks 1–2: interviews, access recovery and planning.
- Weeks 2–5: strategy and identity, if needed.
- Weeks 4–8: website copy, design and build.
- Launch, then 90 days of monitoring and adjustments.
You can shorten this by gathering project photos early and choosing one person in your firm to approve copy. The services overview gives timelines for each service.
Ownership
This is the issue that causes the most grief in our industry. Too many owners discover, when they try to leave a provider, that the domain, the website or the Google profile is registered to someone else.
Our rule is simple. Everything is set up in your company's name from day one: the domain, hosting, analytics, call tracking, Google profile and brand files. We work inside your accounts with access you can revoke. If we part ways, you keep everything, and we help with the hand-over.
Working together day to day
Owners often ask what the work feels like once it starts. In practice it is lighter than people fear. You will have a kick-off interview of about an hour, a few shorter calls to review drafts, and a monthly summary to read. Most approvals can be done by text or email from a job site.
What we ask in return is one decision-maker. When three people at a firm each give different feedback on the same page, projects stall. Choose one person to approve copy and design, and let others feed their comments to that person.
We also ask for honesty about capacity. A brand and website that bring in more enquiries are only useful if your crews can take the work. If you are fully booked until spring, tell us; we may suggest finishing the brand and site now and switching on promotion later, which our sister brand Oakville.Marketing handles for firms selling large projects.
Who we are not right for
We are probably the wrong fit if you need a site live in a week, if you want someone to write fake reviews or promise rankings, or if you would rather not hold your own accounts. We are also not a contractor, so if you are a homeowner looking for a trade, we can't help directly. Everyone else is welcome to call, text or email and ask.
Trust
We don't publish customer quotes or star ratings for ourselves, and we never invent them. What we do publish are named results from our HVAC work, each linked to a live site, on the results page. You can also read how we work and what we refuse to do on our about page.
The fairest test is a conversation. Call, text or email, ask hard questions, and judge the answers. We would rather lose a client by being honest than win one by overpromising.
